Baxter is Ron Burgundy's only beloved pet dog and close friend. Ron often has enlightening conversations with Baxter at home and their friendship is very close.
The Passing and Return[]
Baxter was punted into a river by an angry motorcyclist as a result of Ron's accidental damages to his motorcycle from throwing a burrito. After the demise of Baxter, Ron was in a "glass case of emotion". Towards the ending of the movie, Baxter returned to save Ron and Veronica from being attacked by bears.
Sequel[]
After Ron was fired he and Ron went back to San Diego to work at Sea World after Ron was from that job Baxter tries to talk Ron out of suicide in which Ron attempted but failed to commit.
